Sarawak Government of Sarawak 1 Dollar 1.1.1935 Pick 20 KNB27 PMG Choice About Unc 58. Deep green inks on a pastel undertone create great eye appeal on this 1935 issued note featuring the portrait of the last White Rajah of Sarawak, Charles Vyner Brooke. The territory located on the Island of Borneo, today a part of Malaysia, was acquired by the Brooke family through a series of land purchases. It received recognition from the United States and later the United Kingdom and existed as a protectorate. The currency was pegged with the Straits Dollar, which circulated in bordering territories and which eased transactions of the mainly agricultural products produced in Sarawak. From The Drs.
