D N THEODO-SIVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Theodosius I right, seen from front / VICTORI-A AVGGG H, emperor with bare head in military dress standing right, vexillum with X on banner in right hand, Victory on globe in left, left foot on bound captive turned back and looking up; S-M across fields, COMOB in exergue. Although RIC does not distinguish, there are two reverses for this issue - one with the emperor bare headed, as on the present example, and the other with the emperor wearing a pearl diadem.
