Kalima in three lines across field; mint and date formula around; citing "Musa" (engraver?) on the outer margin / Qur'an 112 in four lines across field; Qur'an IX, 33 around. Unpublished, including in Miles, Vives and Frochoso Sànchez, but for type cf. Album 345 (this date unknown). 2.41g, 30mm, 11h.

Good Very Fine; flan somewhat wavy, weak strike to rev. marginal legend, lightly toned and lustrous. Unpublished, and of the highest rarity.

From the inventory of a European dealer.

Frochoso Sànchez (Las acuñaciones de Daysam bin Ishaq", Gaceta Numismatica, 146, 2002, pp. 25-27) reported a unique half dirham dated AH 277 struck by the rebel Daysam bin Ishaq with his full name on reverse. The name Musa, unknown to the sources, could be the same who appears on some rare dirhams dated AH 275 during the emirate of al-Mundhir (AH 273-275).
