Greco-Baktrian Kingdom, Pantaleon CU-NI Double Unit. Circa 185-180 BC. Wreathed head of Dionysos right, with thyrsus over left shoulder / ΒΑΣΙΛΕ[Ω]Σ ΠΑΝΤΑΛΕΟΝΤΟΣ, panther standing right, with raised forepaw; monogram to left. Unpublished in the standard references including Mitchiner; for type, cf. SNG ANS 262-264 for type, and 234-235 (Agathokles) for this monogram used in exergue. 7.19g, 24mm, 12h.

Near Very Fine; some corrosion to edge. Extremely Rare.

Pantaleon's reign, usually dated to circa 185-180 BC, was contemporary to Agathokles, though must have ended before that of his co-ruler as commemorative issues for Pantaleon are known in the name of Agathokles.
