Obverse: Perspective view of the duomo exterior from the east; Reverse: View of the interior looking down the nave toward the apse from an eyepoint just to the right of the centerline of the nave. A near Gem example of this pleasing type, featuring a particularly robust and intricate exterior rendition of the church.
Begun near the end of the 13th century in 1296, the duomo in Florence was built in the Italian Gothic style. It was finally completed over a century later in 1436.
