War Savings Stamps were introduced by the U.S. Treasury during involvement in World War I as a way in which funds necessary to carry on the war effort could be raised. Upon completion of a "booklet" of stamps, the user could redeem it for funds. The Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. teamed up with the government in this endeavor, awarding these medals to representatives who were able to sell $5,000 or more in such stamps.
From the Richard Jewell Collection.
Estimate: $60.00- $100.00
