Obverse: Jugate uniformed busts of Washington and Lafayette left; Reverse: The Legion d' Honneur with the date and place of the battle; Clasp: CHATEAU-THIERRY/COTE 204; Ribbon: White, though somewhat yellowed. Overall, the medal is lightly toned with some scattered spots. A fairly RARE type, especially with the clasp and ribbon.
Instituted two years after the conclusion of World War I, this award--for veterans who took part in the victory over the enemy in the area--was presented by the thankful residents of Chateau-Thierry.
