A delightful mix of medals (8) and plaques (4) mostly celebrating those who were wounded or tragically killed during World War I, and issued either in the middle of the war or just after its conclusion. Most emanate from some of the leading French and Belgian artists of the period, though an issue from Austria is mentioned as well. Moving and solemn engraving.
