KARL GOETZ MEDALS. Germany. Queen Marie Therese of Bavaria Oval Cast Bronze Medal, 1918. Munich Mint. MINT STATE.
Kienast-202. 85x135mm. By Karl Goetz. Obverse: Bust of Marie Therese left; Reverse: Female standing right, holding infant and guiding young boy holding standard and wearing pickelhaube. Charming light brown surfaces. A rather imposing and large casting.

Marie Therese, a Jacobite heir owing to her descent from the Electress Sophia of Hanover, served as the final queen of the Kingdom of Bavaria, the mother to Crown Prince Rupprecht. She died just a few months after the end of World War I, with the titles of nobility all being abolished during the post-war German Revolution.
