KARL GOETZ MEDALS. Germany. Group of Silver and Bronze Christmas Medals (14 Pieces), 1914-1918. Grade Range: EXTREMELY FINE to CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
Mostly represented in this interesting array are issues from the popular "Christmas" series, a group of 10 designs over the course of the war from 1914 to 1918, presenting obverses used in other Goetz works translated to the smaller 22.5mm canvas, while featuring an increasing number of candles on the reverse (indicating the number of Christmases since the outbreak of the war). This group includes (all in bronze except where noted) Kienast-241, 242, 243, 243 (in silver and with loop attached), 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 248 (in silver), 249, and 250. Also included is a small bronze type of Muranyi and of Simson (with loop attached).
From the Richard Jewell Collection.
Estimate: $600.00- $1000.00
