KARL GOETZ MEDALS. Germany. 400th Anniversary of the Death of Albrecht Duerer Silver Medal, 1928. Munich Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield.
Kienast-388. By Karl Goetz. 36mm. Obverse: Bust of Duerer left; Reverse: Genius holding scroll with Duerer's monogram and familial coat-of-arms. An incredibly lustrous and radiant Near Gem, this mostly argent specimen presents some delightful iridescence near parts of the peripheries on each side.

A true Renaissance man, Albrecht Duerer was a painter, engraver, medalist, and writer highly celebrated and revered in many German artistic and creative circles. The Duerer issues of 1928 by Goetz are considered to be possible patterns for potential coin designs.

From the Richard Jewell Collection.

Estimate: $75.00- $150.00
