KARL GOETZ MEDALS. Germany. 150th Anniversary of the Death of Frederick the Great Silver Medal, 1936. Munich Mint. MINT STATE.
Kienast-512. 36mm. By Karl Goetz. Obverse: Head of Frederick left; Reverse: Putto, holding book and standard, seated right on scroll; above, crowned eagle flying left, head right, holding scepter and orb. Edge: BAYER HAUPTMUNZAMT FEINSILBER. Charming matte surfaces, with a light steel gray hue and a hint of iridescence near the peripheries.

Frederick the Great ruled over the Kingdom of Prussia for more years (46) than any other from the House of Hohenzollern, the dynastic family that would eventually produce the German Emperors only a century later.
