Sigtuna, Penning, Ethelred II Long Cross type, O-style, c. 1000 - 1020, Malmer 4.233.SMH 207. 1.60 g. Fully readable specimen of the uncommon O-style subgroup with initial cross in legend. The reverse die is extremely rare - first registered 2006 cf. Malmer 2010 p. 183 - and the dies belong to the older part of the die net consisting of chains 10, 11 and 14.
Ex. Poul Hjelmer, member of (Danish) Numismatic Society since November 1946. Probably mainly active as collector in the 1940s.
