Poland, John III Sobieski, 1674-1696, medal with busts of the royal couple commemorating their visit to Gdansk in August 1677, weight of 7 Ducats 24.16 g, 34 mm, dies by Gdansk medalist Jan Höhn. Raczyński 216. The reverse shows a special 'triumphal arch' (erected to the visit) of a palm and an olive tree with the Sobieski coat of arms. Small scratches, edge nicks and mark in left reverse field on lovely, old provenanced specimen.
