CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (34mm, 22.56 g, 6h). Radiate and draped bust right, holding spear and shield ornamented with gorgoneion / Tyche seated left, holding a temple in each hand (one temple has eight columns, the other seven). SNG BN –; SNG Levante 1144 (same dies). Dark green to black patina with traces of red, some light smoothing. Good VF. Rare and interesting type.
