IONIA, Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29.5mm, 12.38 g, 12h). Cistophoric standard. Struck 160-150 BC. Cista mystica with serpent; all within ivy wreath / Bow case with serpents; EΦE to left, bee within wreath to right. Kleiner & Noe Series 17, obv. die 18; SNG Copenhagen 309 (same obv. die); SNG von Aulock 7838 (same obv. die). Darkly toned, some roughness, light cleaning scratches. VF.
