Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; kithara in left field, EYEΛΘOΣ in exergue. Kinns –; Price 1737 corr. (mint). Lightly toned, a little porosity, some light marks. VF. Very rare, only one in Pella (in Berlin), one in CoinArchives.
All are known examples of this issue are struck from the same die pair. The obverse die was also used to strike the Paris example cited by Price 1862 (visible online in Pella), establishing the correct mint attribution of Price 1737. Moreover, the name Euelthos is only securely attested at Kolophon in the Lexicon of Greek Personal Names (LGPN).
