KM-201 (for basic type). Countermark variety S1d; Flower-like design in the shape of a diamond. RARE late date host coin and ruler. On a 1818-MoJJ Mexico laureate bust 8 Reales of Ferdinand VII. The countermark is deeply impressed and lustrous, minor earthen deposits are noted in the crevasses slightly obscuring the brilliance within. The host is well worn indicating prolonged time in circulation and has developed lovely rich gray tone highlighted by sunset hued iridescence. A handsome representative of they on a host type that is seldom encountered.
