CHINA. Dollar, ND (1914). PCGS MS-65+ Gold Shield.
L&M-858; K-642; KM-Y-322.1. WS-0094. Yuan Shih-kai in high feathered hat type; Restrike of 1918 variety. A lustrous Gem quality dollar, exceptional not only for its preservation, which approaches the highest quality imaginable, but also due to the captivating tone that now enlivens its appearance. On the obverse, the central design and highly lustrous surrounding fields are framed by scintillating bands of vivid green, blue, mauve and gold tone. The reverse shows much of the same colors, albeit in less dramatic saturations, with color bands being less distinguishable. The overall result is a coin with eye-appeal that would be hard to surpass. As such, we expect intense competition for the right to own this elite example of this wildly popular type.
