CHINA. Dollar, ND (1916). NGC MS-64.
L&M-942; K-663; KM-Y-332; WS-0097; Hsu-16. Struck to commemorate the inauguration of Hung Hsien Emperor. Obverse: Facing military bust of Yuan Shih-kai in tall plumed shako; Reverse: Imperial flying dragon. The level of detail in the uniform, hat plumage, face and eyes stand witness to the strike this coin received when minted. Likewise, the winged dragon reverse exhibits an astonishing amount of detail. Light toning creates great depth on this near-Gem Uncirculated example. Strong die polish lines are noted in the obverse and reverse fields giving interesting characteristics.
Estimate: $20000.00- $30000.00
