CHINA. Kwangtung. 1 Mace 4.4 Candareens (20 Cents), ND (1890-1908). PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Gold Shield.
L&M-135; K-28; KM-Y-201; WS-0944. Pop: 2, none graded finer by PCGS or NGC as Specimen or Proof. A brilliant and attractive coin with prooflike fields, sharp strike, and virtually no toning. A fabulous survivor of this specimen striking that seldom appears on the market in such an elite state of preservation. The frosted devices are virtually perfect displaying a hint a tone on the highest points while the mirrored fields offer bright reflectivity more closely associated with issues produced at the Shanghai, Shenyang or Shenzhen mints today. Neat raised concentric dies lines in a clockwise direction can be seen on the reverse giving an interesting characteristic that is not noticed on the circulation issues. A superior representative of the type far nicer than normally encountered on the market worthy of the fine cabinet of a connoisseur.

For consideration we note that this piece sold for the impressive amount of $28,000 hammer in the Baldwin's Hong Kong Coin Auction #51 August 25, 2011 and has been off the market since that time.

Ex: Baldwin's Hong Kong Coin Auction August 25, 2011 Lot # 533.

Estimate: $15000.00- $25000.00
