According to Lecompte and Bruce this variety was struck on a slightly smaller diameter and slightly underweight planchet. Struck for use in the French Indo-China opium trade. A sharply struck example exhibiting none of the typical design weaknesses but with signs of handling consistent for the grade. A handsome problem free example with good eye appeal.
