CHINA--EMPIRE. Ming Dynasty. 1 Kuan, 1368-99. P-AA10. PCGS Currency About New 53.
An incredible offering of this early large format note. Seen with two vermillion prints at center, and excellent impressions standing out through the third party holder. Pleasing registration and details. It is truly of a special breed as an item which always creates conversation when viewed by those unaware of the note's existence. Most known today were originally discovered during the Boxer Rebellion in the early 20th century. A later trove then came to light during demolition of a Temple around the outskirts of Beijing in the 1930's. The historical bank notes were found within a time capsule in the temple and represent a large population in higher quality. From the Sophus Black Collection.
Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
