CHINA. Yunnan. Gold Leaf Money (6 pieces) , ND (Early to late-20th Century). Grade Range: FINE to VERY FINE.
Weight: 19.38 gms. An interesting gathering of modern gold leaf sheets, each piece exhibits both Chinese and English legends with identical numbers at the base, some more clearer than others. The large sheets depict a dragon or other auspicious creature with inscriptions below. The English inscription in three lines is as follows "Yunnan Fou Law Fong Tsian Gold Shop"; Chinese inscriptions within elongated ovaloid beaded border " Jia __ Shi Zu Jin __", plus other characters in the open areas most of which are difficult to decipher. Each piece is crinkled, some with torn edges, flattened areas or folded metal. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder.
1-5) Each piece is approximately 108.26 x 77.89 mm. Average weight of each is 3.53 gms (weight range of 3.40 gms to 3.75 gms).
6) 73.38 x 58.56 mm. Weight: 1.71 gms. Nearly completely flat with little in the way of inscriptions or legends.
