115.43 gms. Probably manufactured ca. 1880's as a direct result of Commodore Perry visiting Japan and the subsequent exodus of gold and other Japanese coinage. These fantasy issues were most likely produced for collectors who had taken an interest in Japanese coinage. An attractive example with rich slate patina.
