Great Britain, copper-alloy Admiral Vernon medal, 1739, Porto Bello / Fort Chagre, ex-Adams. AC-FCv5D. 14.37 grams, 39mm. Fine+, mostly dark but with crusty brass high points, with enough clarity above Vernon's head to see that a "top curl" described by McCormick-Goodhart for his variety #189 (scarce) is actually a small conical void (debris on the die?) in the late-state die for #190. Pedigreed to the John Adams collection.
