Fort with flag flying under TOMA DEL CALLAO EN 1826 within large wreath, integrated loop at top, attractively toned AU with luster in fields, old scratches on (blank) reverse. This medal was issued for the enlisted men under Peruvian General Bartolome Salon who successfully laid siege to fortress Real Felipe in Callao and ousted Spanish General Jose Ramon Rodil, thereby ending Spanish military power in Peru.
