Rio Hacha, Colombia, Banco de Rio Hacha, 1 peso specimen, 188X (1885), series B, PMG Choice AU 58 EPQ. SCWPM-S818s; CHPM-7546. Three POCs. Unlike other examples dated to January 1, 1883 that have appeared on the market (such as the several proof and specimen notes in the Eldorado collection), this rarity has blank spaces for the issuance date. Parra notes there are two print runs for this denomination: one in 1883 which had the fully printed date of 1o de Enero de 1883 and another in 1885 with blank spaces for the date that were to be written in upon issuance. No issued examples are known for the second print run in 1885, leaving this specimen form as the only way to acquire both types of pesos from the Banco de Rio Hacha. Strong ink colors and original paper quality with light handling in the bottom left corner for the grade, margins a bit uneven but full. PMG #8070918-007.
