Lima, Peru, cob 8 escudos, 1712M, ex-1715 Fleet, mounted pillars-side out in 18K gold bezel with diamonds (Smith's of Cayman). 46.99 grams total. Broad flan with good full pillars-and-waves and cross-lions-castles, well centered and not doubled, second date peeking out around the top-left prong, the coin overall a bit worn (VF) and of course polished, but the mounting itself fabulous as usual, with very large bail (to hold a massive chain). From the 1715 Fleet.
