English pewter measure, intact but missing lid, ex-HMS Stirling Castle (1703). 212 grams, 3-1/4" tall, 2" diameter. The Great Storm of November 1703 in southeast England wrecked over 50 ships, many on the Goodwin Sands, including the Royal Navy channel fleet which included the HMS Stirling Castle. This lovely, encrusted vessel shows saltwater effects and small losses of metal but is in stable condition and makes for a very displayable artifact. From the HMS Stirling Castle (1703), with photo-certificate.
