British ball grenade, ca. 1758, partially fragmented, from Fort St. Frederic in Crown Point, NY. 711 grams, 2-1/2" diameter if whole. Rarely are these primitive grenades found after use, this one almost complete, with a separate fragment found with it, darkly mottled color and uncleaned, from a land find where the British attack on French Fort St. Frederic took place in the Champlain Valley, New York.
