Mexico City, Mexico, 1 real, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer R (Gothic) at bottom between pillars, motto PLVSVL in rounded panel, very rare, NGC VF details / environmental damage, ex-Potomac Collection and ex-Munoz (both stated on label). Nesmith 3e; Cal-60; S-M1; KM-7. 3.03 grams. Full legends and choice inner details with beautiful toning overall despite a spot of bright cleaning on the pillars side, also some minor porosity, desirable as among the very first coins issued from the Mexico City mint, excellent pedigree. NGC #4762849-004. From the Potomac Collection and pedigreed to the Miguel Munoz Collection (Superior auction of June 1979, with original lot-tag #2536.
