Small silver "plata corriente" cut piece, 15.24 grams, with partial tax stamp visible. Roughly 1" x 3/4" x 1/4". An interior section of a small "splash" ingot with one side quite rough but the other flatter and with traces of a partial circular tax stamp of Philip II (?), with light encrustation in crevices all over, popular evidence of stopgap "coins" made and used during a shortage of actual mint-struck coins in the 1500s in places that lacked mints (like Panama, Havana and Santo Domingo).
