Potosi, Bolivia, medallic 1/2 melgarejo, 1865, PCGS AU58, ex-Whittier (stated on label). Burnett-96A2; Fonrobert-9687. Obverse with AL / VALOR / Y / AL / TALENTO above nine stars within legend CANTERIA DE POTOSI SETIEMBRE 5 DE 1865 *; reverse with busts of Melgarejo and Munoz inside small lettering MELGAREJO and MUNOZ within legend A LOS PACIFICADORES DE BOLIVIA 8. Traces of luster and faint rainbow toning, light adjustment marks and weak spot in center of obverse. Burnett (which we follow) and Fonrobert disagree as to which side is the obverse, and the latter calls this denomination "Medio-Boliviano" or "50 Centecimos." PCGS #32906229.
