Costa Rica, gold 1/2 onza (4 escudos), 1850JB, PCGS XF45. KM-97. Lovely red toning around details, boldly struck but with the high relief of the standing figure on obverse leaving too little metal to fully strike up the shield on the reverse (hence typically weak there), the smooth fields indicating more like AU grade overall, one-year type. PCGS #37858952.
