Heinz Rühmann (1902-1994) was one of the most popular German film actors of the 20th century, having appeared in over 100 films between 1926 and 1993. Anne Frank had his photo pasted on her wall in the small hideout where she and her family hid from the Nazis during the German occupation of the Netherlands.
