Length of 14 karat yellow gold rope chain: 51cm (20 inches); weight (of entire necklace and pendant with coin): 21.07g. For coin: The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. April-August 49 BC. Fourrée Denarius. Military mint traveling with Caesar. Elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Emblems of the pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, securis, and apex. Cf. Crawford 443/1; cf. CRI 9; cf. Sydenham 1006; cf. RSC 49; cf. RBW 1557. Toned, some scratches, marks, and light porosity, break in plating on reverse. Good Fine. An interesting piece of coin jewelry. Necklace in excellent, wearable condition, comes with its own modern black drawstring pouch.
