Obv: nICI - FOROS bASIL E' Bust of Nicephorus facing, with short beard, wearing crown and chlamys, and holding cross potent and akakia; in field l., pellet. Rx: STAVRA - CIS dESPO'E Similar facing bust of Stauracius, but beardless and holding cross on globe and akakia.Slight striking softness on the right eye of Nicephorus, but the portrait of his son Stauracius who was killed in battle is exquisite .
