THESSALY. Hypata. Circa 400-344 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 15.5 mm, 2.01 g, 10 h). Laureate head of Zeus to right; behind neck, thunderbolt. Rev. ΥΠΑΤ-ΙΩΝ Athena Nikephoros standing left, holding spear; round shield to lower right. Unpublished but from the same dies as the only other example known, CNG e-auction 357 (2015), 59. This is only the second known example of this very rare and desirable type. Nearly very fine.

The bronze coins of Hypate are by far the rarest of all Thessalian issues.
