ISLANDS OFF ATTICA, Aegina. Circa 456/45-431 BC. Stater (Silver, 18 mm, 12.29 g), c. 445/4-430. Land tortoise with segmented shell. Rev. Incuse square with a skew pattern. ACGC 127. HGC 437. Meadows IIb. Milbank pl. 2, 12. SNG Copenhagen 516-517. An attractive toned example in high relief. Struck on an irregular flan, missing most of the head, and with some scratches under tone, otherwise, very fine.
