LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 7.79 g, 2 h), struck under magistrates Dai.. and Mach... Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of barley ears and triple-pendant earring; below chin, ΔΑΙ. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Ear of barley, with leaf to right; above leaf, plough to right; below leaf, ΜΑΧ. HN III 1581. Johnston Class C, 1.24-1.29 (same obverse die). Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
