LESBOS. Uncertain mint. Circa 478-460 BC. Twelfth Stater (Billon, 10 mm, 1.17 g). ΛES Confronted heads of two boars. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. BMC 14. HGC 6, 1067. Well-centered, and in unusually fine condition for the issue. Good very fine.


The interesting thing about this issue, which also includes other billon denominations, is that the two heads on the obverse are arranged in a way that makes the type into a single facing head!
