IONIA, Erythrai. Circa 210-175 BC. Hemiobol (?) (Bronze, 13 mm, 2.36 g, 3 h), struck under the magistrate Pausanias. Head of Herakles facing, turned slightly to the right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. [EPY] / [Π]ΑΥΣΑΝΙAΣ Club above bow in bow case. Apparently unpublished. Extremely rare, apparently unpublished for this magistrate and of remarkably fine style for the general issue. Very fine.
This type closely resembles the very rare issues of Kos (Ingvaldsen group XIX and Stefanaki Group 35), thus it should have been struck during the same period, between 210 and 175 BC.
