LESBOS. Mytilene. Circa 377-326 B.C. EL hekte. 2.58 gm. 9 mm. Head of Apollo (Dionysos?) right, wreathed with ivy / Head of female right, hair loosely gathered into bun on top of head, drapery at neck, within linear square. HGC 6, 1021. Bodenstedt Em. 95. Good Very Fine; beautiful red-gold iridescent toning; flan flaw/die break around mouth on obverse; more attractive in hand; other than the chin the obverse portrait is of good style and well struck; the reverse is particularly well done, well centered; the lighter area has more silver content, well toned, and was in the flan before it was struck. Good style. A particularly charming representation of the type. Rare.
