Cette magnifique et rare monnaie est datée selon l’ère ilahi. Ce système de datation fut introduit durant la 29ème année du règne d’Akbar et se basait sur le calendrier solaire, plutôt que sur le calendrier lunaire. Beaucoup de monnaies basées sur ce calendrier mentionnent également le mois persan durant lequel la frappe a été effectuée. Mihr est le septième mois.
This beautiful and very rare coin is dated according to the ilahi era. This dating system was introduced in Akbar’s twenty-ninth regnal year and was based on the solar rather than the hijri lunar year. Mughal mints gradually began to place the ilahi date on their coins until the year 50, that of Akbar’s death. During this period many of the mints also included the name of the Persian month in which a coin was struck. Mihr is the seventh month of the ilahi year.This dating system continued until the
early years of the reign of Shah Jahan.
