ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 720-735. AR Sceatt (12mm, 1.01 g, 8h). Series K, type 32a. Mint in Essex or Kent. Diademed and draped bust right, knot behind head, holding cross with pellet on shaft / Serpent-headed wolf, without forelimbs, coiled clockwise; second serpent coiled clockwise around. Cf. Metcalf & Walker 27/29 (for obv./rev.); Sceatta List 39–50; EMC 8 Series Kb; North 89; SCBC 803D. Toned, light porosity. Near VF. Rare.
