ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 730-735. AR Sceatt (12mm, 0.78 g). Series P1d (Series R, type 51 mule). Mint in the east Midlands. Crude bust left with pyramidal neck; Λ and pellets to left, Runic GEPA to right / 'Standard' with saltire cross pommee with trefoils in angles; lines of three pellets on two sides, pellets flanking Λ on another, the final with pellets flanking O. Sceatta List 13-50, illustrating SCBI 69 (Abramson), 717 (same dies); MEC 8 Series SS; North –; SCBC 812. Toned, minor porosity. VF.
