ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 730-735. AR Sceatt (12.5mm, 1.07 g). Series P (Series R4 variety). Mint in the east Midlands. Degenerate bust right, headdress of two beaded lines, triangular neck set on beaded line below; ΛOΛ to left, runic EPG to right / 'Standard' with central annulet, diagonal lines in each corner; radiating line on each side and corner, pellets between. Sceatta List 13–45, illustrating SCBI 63 (BM), 646 (same dies); MEC 8 Series SSa; cf. North 159; cf. SCBC 813A. Toned, a little rough. VF.
