Fifty Pence 2012 London Olympic Games - Gold Medal Winners Coin - Rowing, Gold Proof Piedfort FDC and in the Royal Mint's presentation case with certificate number 20 of 29, in June 2019 (LCA 165 Lot 1510) we sold a full set of 11 of these Gold Proof Piedfort 2012 Fifty Pences and the vendor of that set had obtained from The Royal Mint mintage figures (actual rather than issue limits which may be smaller) which showed just 26 of these Rowing Piedforts exist. These rare coins have been offered by us in three different presentation formats raw, in NGC slabs and in Royal Mint presentation boxes, we have only seen two prior to this auction in Royal Mint presentation boxes these were Triathlon and Athletics so this is the first Rowing issue we have seen in the presentation case and also comes with the Chief Engraver Master Proofs card
