PROMISSORY HALFPENNY, stork standing right, PAYABLE IN LONDON on edge with engrailing in space, 12h, 7.53g (Atkins 13; D&H 15), almost very fine, note the die axis; others, 5h, edge obliquely grained (2), 10.40g; 10.55g (Atkins 13a; D&H 15a), the first good very fine; the second lustrous, extremely fine with some residual mint colour; additionally, 'River God' types, 1791, 5h (2), obv. as last, rev. NUNQUAM ARESCERE, river god reclining right, MDCCXCI in exergue, edge obliquely grained, 8.23g (Atkins 14; D&H 16), a small edge nick at reverse 2 o'clock, otherwise patinated, good very fine; another, obv. 'LET GLASGOW FLOURISH, shield, rev. as last, CAMBRIDGE BEDFORD AND HUNTINGDON . x . x (cf. D&H Lanark 3a), carbon spotting, but much residual mint colour, good extremely fine (5).
